14 year old remanded in custody after appearing in court over Thames Ditton assault
A 14-year-old boy from Kingston-upon-Thames has been remanded in custody following an assault on a group of teenage boys in Thames Ditton on Saturday evening (12 January). The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court today (16 January) charged with robbery, grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place. He will next appear at Kingston Crown Court on 13 February. The incident took place following an altercation on a bridge over train tracks in Woodfield Road around 8.34pm. One boy was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds where he remains in a serious but stable condition. A second boy was also assaulted but has since been released from hospital. A 15-year-old, who was also arrested, has been released under investigation.
